Posted By artisdeeian What is the law regarding putting barbed wire around a Transformer house fence top. If I install 'Warning' signs (Pictogram type) stating the dangers is this sufficient. Regards Ian.

Posted By Roger the Dodger You might come unstuck on this one, my understanding is that you are not allowed to 'set traps' - occupiers liability rules will kick in. Think you might be better, trying to stop people climbing in the 1st place.

Posted By Gareth Bryan This topic has been covered several times, try a search for the previous threads. Basically Roger is wrong, you can use barbed wire or even razor wire provided that it is above a certain hight (I think it is 2m but not sure) and will not harm people going about their lawful business. Signs should be displayed as you suggest.

Posted By Rich Hall its paint that doesnt dry basically , and the pesky naughty burgulars get it all over them thus enabling plod to make a swift arrest, before letting them free to do it again obviously.

Posted By Ken Taylor I would go for 2.5m (as 2.4m appears in Highways legislation). You could also try revolving top panels and anti-climb weld-mesh fencing (ie the holes are too small for footholds).

Posted By Gareth Bryan We've found that anti climb paint is easily overcome, just throw an old coat or similar over it and away you go !
