Posted By Simon Carrier Good morning I am clearing out some old files and have a number of old accident books. What is the minimum time we have to keep these for? I know that RIDDOR reports have to be kept for 3 years and was considering doing the same for these books. Your thoughts would be appreciated. regards

Posted By Martyn Hendrie I would recommend that they are kept for at least 5 years. An injured party has three years form the date of the accident to make a claim. If any of the information in the BI 510 relates to on going claims the information would still be needed. Hope this helps
