Posted By Jon Bradburn We have an issue - highlighted by the WAH regs. We have varoius windows we open on an almost daily basis. Unfortunately they are situated over a 900mm workbench , with a 450mm sill. Total reach to the handle is 1200-1400mm. These are modern UPVC windows with domestic type handles and push button lock mechanism. Has anyone heard of any device that could be used to open / close these windows without someone having to climb up onto the bench? Any help would be greatful - any inventors out there could make a packet lol. Jon B

Posted By David P Johnson Try looking with disability access companies that manufacture aids. I know a local retailer in my area (Wigan, Greater Manchester) supplies sticks with hooks on the end for this purpose. Dave Johnson

Posted By Stuart Nagle Jon. Have you considewred reorganising the working area to permit adequate access. This would in the first instance be the correct way forward. If, in all reasonableness the workplace cannot be organised, then that would be the time to thing about alternatives to achieve the need to access areas normally out of reach! Regards... Stuart
