Is anyone aware of a training organisation running courses for safety officers in dynamic risk assessment? Or has a presentation I could look at?

Brian,
Not sure where you could attend a course, but you could try contacting the local Fire Brigade. I think you will find they carry one out on every shout and should be able to assist.

Lancashire County Council (http://www.lancashire.gov.uk) provides an excellent guide for its internal staff on the implementation and use of dynamic risk assessment.
You can get a copy absolutely free of charge, by making a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information, Wigan comes under the now defunct Greater Manchester and we have little direct contact with Lancashire.
I will be visiting their site.
Thanks again.

Brian. Fire & Rescue Services were issued a fire service guide to for the 'Dynamic Management of Risks at Operational Incidents'. This guide is issued by The Stationery Office (ISBN 0 11 341221 5). This document forms a basis for Fire & Rescue Services.

Please see my reply to the earlier thread on dynamic risk assessment (currently on page 3). The national document that has been mentioned is a good staring point.
The Fire Services College are worth a call.
IOSH are now running a course - page 24 of their present brochure.
I have left my number with a colleague of yours. If you contact me, I may be able to assist further.
