Looking for some guidance from logistics people on best practices for loading/unloading of curtainsider vehicles by forklift trucks.

Recently I have observed and stopped two different practices.

Firstly vehicle driver working on bed of trailer with pallet truck to move loads around to avoid need to open curtains on both sides of trailer.

Secondly FLTs loading vehicles from one side only - pushing 2nd load across the bed of the vehicle with the second load - curtains on far side opened already. Also 2 FLTs loading the same vehicle together - risk of impact accidents between them.

Are there any guidelines from industrial groups on best practice? Does anybody out there produce there own internal rule books to cover these type of things?

Many thanks to anybody who can help

ta

Martin
