Good afternoon

I am just wondering if any forum users could help me with my query and point me in the right direction of further information.

I am looking to find out how you calculate an employees daily personal noise exposure level given the dB(A) of the machinery that is being used, the background dB(A) of the room the employee is working in and also knowing the number of hours that person works.

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Elizabeth

Try the HSE calculator: http://www.hse.gov.uk/noise/calculator.htm

You are looking foe the Lepd rating and varies depending on the interaction of the worker to the Noise source, this is best done using a personal dosimeter and getting the results over a typical working day.

This means that the Lepd may be diffirent for varing people dependant on their interaction.

Its not the same as saying that this machine proiduces XX DB and therefore over the 8 hours it is YY.

Use personal dosimetry or try Istitute of Acoustics
