We are all no doubt very familiar with the HSE's guidance on stress risk assessment, and I have just completed our second annual stress risk assessment. What are your views and experiences, and how have you responded:
Have you used an off the shelf system, such as that provided by the HSE, or have you used the services of an external consultancy?
Have you linked the assessment to any other work, such as employee survey's or staff development programme's? (our assessment questions were actually 'embedded' in the annual employee survey)
Boring stuff for a Friday afternoon but it will be interesting to find out if people are taking this seriously, and what they are doing - if anything....

Good afternoon Jez.
As a consultant providing services, I find that most employers fail to identify a considerable range of the suggested issues in the HSE Guidance, let alone ask the questions that you have.
I presume that the HR Dept [if you have one] are actively involved in the stress RA's? They would normally be the people most likely to be involved in absence management, return to work interviews and everything inbetween. This is an invaluable generator of information to support [and focus] your stress RA's. Of course, it has to genuine & meaningful!!
Any chance of providing a future posting on your conclusions - please.

As you are well down the stress risk assessment route you might not need this help. However, might I suggest that you look at the free information available at www.stressbiz.co.uk.
