Posted By Robert S Woods Can anyone help with suggestions to reduce the risk from the following? A dental technicians presses his product using an hydraulic ram it is then transferred to a clamp which is basically three plates two fixed at each end of two 1.5cm stainless bars the other slides the other has a bolt that passes through a nut in one of the plates to allow it to be screwed down to clamp the product (clear as mud eh). Typically when the company had a visit from the liability insurer one of these bars snapped and shot across the room like a bullet. At the moment the clamps are tightened using an air powered wrench with no torque adjustment. I have my own ideas on controlling the risk but a fresh mind may come up with something simpler or more innovative (hopefully).
