Can anyone help me find some information about 4 wheel drive events.
A colleague is helping his father in law to arrange a muddy 4 wheel drive event in some woods that he owns (private land) but for a charge.
I've mentioned the RA and Safe Systems, marshalls, first aiders, traffic routes etc, but has anyone got anything else to suggest or literature to read.
I have got a copy of HSG112 and have searched the HSE website (to no avail)
Thanks for your help

What type of event is it thats being organised Debbie?
Is it a competitive event, or just a friendly drive round on a suitable site? If competitive, you will have to make sure you are covered under the Road Traffic Act for any dangerous driving (should be covered in the HSE document you mentioned). You should also consider liability insurance for the organiser.
The clubs I'm involved with organise a wide range of events from simple "Driver Training Days" on commercial sites, Challenge events using winches, through to events like the Scottish Hill Rally that ran over the weekend. See www.hillrally.co.uk for some info. Also have a look at http://www.the-arc.co.uk/index.html
The main regulatory boy for 4-wheeled motor sports events is the Motor Sports Association www.msauk.org.
Let me know what type of envent is being planned and I'll try to give you more info.

As far as I am aware, its a friendly day for Land Rover enthusiasts to put their 4 wheel drive vehicles through their paces.
