Posted By Gary L Hi, our company needs to dispose of a (very)large number of video tapes. Are these in any way classed as "hazardous". I've searched the European Waste Catalogue & have found codes for plastic, but not for celluloid. I am also considering recycling the tapes but at present am a little conscious of confidentiality/sensitive information. Any info would be appreciated. Regards, Gary

Posted By Jane Blunt Dear Gary So far as I am aware the tape itself consists of iron oxide, polyurethane and the tape backing which is probably polyester. I do not know what the containers are made from. Celluloid is not one of the components so far as I know. Regards Jane
