Maybe its excel or just me but should this figure not be 0.03
12 accidents in 431637hrs = 2.78e02 (means sod all to me)
Supposed to tell me how many average days lost per 1000 hrs worked.
Can someone tell me what the e means? (Did not do well on maths)
How is this number supposed to be displayed?
Do I just change the cell format?
Arrrrrrgh Arrrrgh Arrrrgh I have had enough after spending all night on a excel sheet that is supposed to show different rolling results for year.
Need an excel expert to check it for me.
Any excel experts out there
Thanks Jason
Jason

it means ten to the power.
essentaily 1e2 means 100, therefore 2.78e2 means 278

did you mean 2.78e-02?
that would be 0.0278, or 0.3 as you suggest
if you go into format cell, number and pick general (it's probably in scientific now) that should sort you out

Thanks Andy
Sussed it now
A mixture of a late night mixed with windows calculator coming to same number caused the confusion.
Was simple when cell display changed to number, as it was in scientific.
Just another few hours and my cheapscate calculator will be complete lol.
