Posted By Adrian Clifton Hello all. Can anyone point me in the direction of a training course aimed at Engineering Workshops? I am part of a small team of Advisors who visit a wide variety of employers to conduct inspections/assessments for Work Experience students. We are looking for a course provider (preferably in Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire/Leicestershire) that has a 1 day course which does not cost an arm and a leg, that focuses on PUWER, LEV's,as well as general safety in workshops. If anyone can point me in the right direction I and my colleagues would be most gratefull. Adrian

Posted By Gareth Bryan Adrian, Try contacting your local Technical College, they may have something. Speaking as an engineer and safety professional it worries me that you think that you will be competent to undertake such assessments after a short one day course !

Posted By Adrian Clifton Gareth Sorry, didn't realise I should have said that I too am a Safety professional with 23 years safety experience (including several years in Engineering). Do not be so quick to judge people unless you have all the facts. For the benifit of futures responses, the course is intended as refresher training to take into account the implications of the most recent amendments to PUWER Adrian

Posted By Mark Talbot I did something similar to this through Norwich Union - scan their training pages or speak to them. They are pretty good at this sort of course.
