Following a DSE assessment I have a woman that I have some additional concerns with regard to her health problems i.e. musculoskeletal - combining previous and ongoing pains in shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist etc details of which should be on her HR file. She apparently had an ergonomic assessment in 2001 also on file and has since undergone surgery in 2002.
In view of the above and the last ergonomic assessment having been carried some time ago (2001) and the subsequent surgery (2002) I have suggested that a professional ergonomic assessment update is carried out and advice is sort as to the present situation regarding her health. This would of course be in consultation with the employee.
I believe we would then fully comply with the DSE 1992 and Management of Health and Safety Regs 1999
Any info would be great if this is the correct line or do others think different?
Also I would like any names companies that are qualified to carry out the above and what credentials should I look for?
Thanks for any help.

Rich.
I am presuming that the surgery failed to correct the problem. If this is the case, is the employee classed as having a disability? Does her work exacerbate her condition? Has she spoken to her GP to arrange for an assessment of her condition in relation to her work? Do you have access to Occ Health provision?
Advice and information is available at

(They get longer don't they?)
Hope this helps.
