Posted By Dee Guidance gratefully received! Is there a standard way of working about the no. of man hours in a month for a Company. Please don't say the HR department should have the information because this is a new Company and at present there is no up and running HR function. Should it be of any help I have a mixture of staff and contractors and the total number of personnel is 24, however this number will increase significantly so I am looking for a 'formula' that is adaptable. Not all staff hours are the same. Cheers, Dee

Posted By Jane Watts what are you hoping to achieve? does this help... 52 (weeks) x 5 (working days per week) then minus the number of bank holiday days, which I think is 8. The minus the maximum leave someone has, i.e. 25 days. This will give you the maximum days a person is available to work a year. you can then split this down to months, but of course will vary according to bank holidays in months.

Posted By Frank Hallett Good point Jane. Dee, could you please identify what it is that you're trying to achieve with this? There are 2 standard formulae in HS[G] 65 that are routinely used for Accident Rate & Injury Rate; why aren't these any good for you? Frank Hallett
