Having recently demobbed a number of sites (and had a massive clear out) an array of gas bottles obtained from various suppliers around the country has now appeared. Does anyone know if there is an organisation that will take them or are we stuck with transporting them around the country back to the original suppliers?

Not sure how applicable it is in your case, but in my experience the supplier will come and collect - I guess it may depend on the terms of the sale and the number, size and age of the bottles.

Companies such as safety-kleen will take these off of your hands at a cost for disposal

have sent you info direct. Have had this problem on a bigger scale.
All cylinder manufacturers have the responsibility for their own cylinders and operate a collection scheme across the country for the free collection of cylinders.
However - in practise this is a challenge using the manufacturers collection agents - as on info sent direct. They seem to 'cherry pick' the good ones and leave the rest! never have enough room to collect all that we have! or leave them as damaged, even though they are supposed to take them all.
We have now turned to Synergy Asset Management (Tel 01706 346828 Fax 01706 346828 Mobile 07974 372698) to assist in the removal of cylinders.
