Posted By JEFFREY SMITH Just a quickie (ooeerr!) I have just been into a shoe shop in my native Trowbridge and have seen a new type of safety shoe on sale. It is in the form of a trainer boot and claims to satisfy most of the requirements for oil, toe caps etc. Has anybody come across these (name escapes me but they look pretty smart) and have any opinions? Cheers Jeff

Posted By Adam Jackson Arco have sold safety-trainer type things for a long time. Pretty good. As with all safety shoes, just make sure they're appropriate for the risk, but people do whinge a lot less about them.

Posted By Jeff Manion Have seen "safety boots" in shop windows, the price seems good, but they might not meet current requirements i.e. BS ENISO 17249: Safety footwear with resistance to chain saw cutting BS ENISO 20345: Personal protective equipment. Safety footwear BS ENISO 20346: Personal protective equipment. Protective footwear BS ENISO 20347: Personal protective equipment. Occupational footwear There are more requirements but you should focus on BS EN 20345 JM
