Another new card, from the CSCS, ---------the CRO card--------Construction Related Occupation
What's in your wallet?
Cost £20.00 (card only)
Extras, undisclosed cost of touch screen "test"
Benefits:
be "related to construction"
knowledge that you can pass a test and be "up there" with the GCSE holders
No more "You can't come in here sonny"
Best bit of all is the practical / intelectual experience required by a CRAPP (construction related applicant) required, which is on the back of the application. It appears "similar" to that which is (mildly) of Gen (safety)Cert level and not neccessarily constuction related.

yep, marvellous. another CITB (we're a registered charity you know) ridiculous scam to get people to fork out money. and of course the companies all fall for it because it looks good that they can tell everyone they've done it because they have their employewes safety at heart. splendid. or is it because so many board members and MP's have affiliations with the companies who buy into the "registered charity"?
hmmmm, i wonder?.......

I take it then that the two previous respondents feel that CSCS branching into accreditation of competence is a bad thing...

It would be good if it were it a test of competence. Unfortunately it is not!
It is at best a test of knowledge. But, as the test is readily available you have to consider what it is really testing.
