Posted By Robert Paterson Hello to all I am looking to find out if the manufacturing sector in Scotland has any forums or discussion groups where fellow professionals can meet with each other to share and have discussions about information relevant to health and safety in manufacturing. The aims, in general, are at improving the health and safety throughout Scotland through sharing best practice and partnership working. Kind Regards Robert Paterson Contact: robert.paterson@jeyes.co.uk

Posted By Ian Waldram In Scotland, EEF equivalent is Scottish Engineering, based in Glasgow. They have a couple of H&S advisors who may know of something. Another potential group is RoSPA Scotland (based in Edinburgh) who have a 'high performers' group, many of whom are in manufacturing. They hope to link with the new PHASS group - see new webpage HSE/scotland for details. If you can't make contact, I can mail you details of someone in both SE and RoSPA.

Posted By Karen Todd IMechE has a safety & reliability group. There is also a Scottish region. See here for their events: http://www.imechenearyou...events.asp&NearYouId=235 The events might not be safety themed, but their programme looks v. interesting - I wish the NI members had a regular informal gathering every Friday in the pub! I like the look of the manufacturing visits and the one on fighter aircraft life support systems. Regards, Karen
