Good afternoon,
One of the ladies in our offices has started working at a multi screen computer; three small (14 inch) screens laid out horizontally so that she can view three separate documents without having to keep minimising documents, or searching her task bar etc
During a preliminary review of her workstation it was obvious that she would have to move her head sideways more, plus she would have to adjust the display characteristics to compensate for the decrease in screen size from a 17 inch monitor, but overall the user said it made her job a lot easier
Does anyone have experience/comments of conducting DSE assessments on users who work at these set ups?
Any advice/comments appreciated
many thanks, Gary

I quite often see situations, including multiple workstations, which are far from ideal and would cause at least discomfort in the majority of people, but the user finds it comfortable. In these situations remind the user of the risk factors identified, the actions they can take to minimise them and the importance of early reporting of problems (i.e. discomfort rather than pain). Record the findings and action taken on the worstation assessment. If you are particularly concerned suggest a 3-6 monthly review is conducted.

I take it the face of the screens is near the vertical, and not 'horizontal'. If they are horizontal I think you ahave a problem!
Multi-screen work is not uncommon, e.g. software developers, specialist engineering software, etc and also CCTV monitor rooms.
All other things being equal, there would be little difference between the multi-screen approach and (e.g.) document holders adjacent to a single screen?
