Posted By J Knight Martin, Two things, a) I think it'll have to be Level 4 Diploma now as Dip 1 has either stopped or is stopping soon and b) we have a new H&S person in our retail arm, and since we are a Charity he has been offered a sponsorship from NEBOSH to do NGC; this is a new scheme and I don't know what the qualifying criteria are or whether it is available for Dip as well as NGC, but it has saved us about £1700 + VAT, John

Posted By MichaelM Martin Try going down the City and Guilds NVQ route. You can do it on H&S improvements etc. you are doing at work and the NVQ allows (with appropriate years worth of H&S experience) membership to IOSH. You do not need to just look at the Diploma part 1 and 2. I got funding for my NVQ when I did it. The funding was through Scottish Enterprise if I remember correctly. You may have something like that in your area if you are not from Scotland. Training providers may be able to point you in the right direction also. Michael

Posted By Frank Macleod Martin, You could also speak to your bank manager about a career development loan. I am sure the Clydesdale as well as Barclay's offer these. The individual if succesful in obtaining one does not repay the loan until after completion of the course. i don't have any more details other than the above. Nip down to your bank and ask. Regards Frank

Posted By Nigel Singleton BSc Have you tried your local business link. They have funding aimed specifically at training to help make your business more profitable by up-skilling. Not sure if this would cover Nebosh, but you don't get if you don't ask.
