Maybe some of my countrymen can enlighten me as to the following.
Are the 1993 regulations incorporated into the new Act?
I realise that the 1989 Act has been replaced by the new Act but I am unclear as to the position with the '93 regs.
I have contacted the HSA contact unit but they are also unclear.
I am trying to put together a powerpoint presentation on the new Act for our contract managers and supervisors but I need to be clear on this issue.
Many thanks for the assistance.

Some potential enlightenment from a fellow countrywoman may help!!!
Parts of the 1993 Regs. have been revoked and there is a full list detailing the extent of revocation on the HSA website at http://www.hsa.ie/publis...?aID=1342&nID=96&pID=93.
I was at one of the HSA briefing sessions on the new Act this evening and apparently, there is a complete new set of regulations to replace the 1993 Regs. currently being compiled which will also contain a number of pending EU directives not yet implemented in Ireland such as vibration and working at heights....
These new regulations will be available in draft form as part of the consultation process and will be accessible to all for comment on the HSA website in the near future.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Margaret

My most sincere apologies Margaret. Of course I should have typed "countryperson"
I have previously checked the HSA website at the address you gave but it did not clarify my queries.
Thanks for the info Margaret.

Attached is a response that I received from the HSA. Maybe of interest to some.
Jim
1993 regs and all the regs previous to 1st Sept 2005 will be replaced shortly - by Nov/Dec - with new Regulations. This will include new Const Regs. Until the new regs come in the 1993 regs are still in operation.
