Hello,
Would anyone happen to know if any "idiots guides" or simplified versions of the provisions of the RR(FS)O have been published or produced yet?
Thanks.

Not so far David.
The rather grandiosely named "Office of the Deputy Prime Minister" and the various "Fire Depts" of the Home Office etc are supposed to be producing the guidance to coincide [sic] with the RRFSO becoming "live" next year.
Naturally, they won't want to confuse anyone by producing it too early.
If anyone has any better info, we shall all be glad to have it shared with us! A statement from a relevant government dept would be really nice - it is only 6 months down the line now. Better still, regular progress reports would be of real assistance.

I am interested to find out if whether people are going down the route of putting fire wardens through the NVQ 'competent persons' training or whether the decision has been made to continue with comprehensive in-house training

Surprisingly, there is a programme of seminars to 'introduce' this.
Details are being handled by the Association of Building Engineers, www.abe.org.uk.
This is a multi agency presentation, organized by the ODPM in conjunction with the ABE, Chief Fire Officers Association, Institution of Fire Engineers, Federation of Small Businesses, CBI, Association of British Insurers, the Fire Industry Confederation and the Building Research Establishment, which is supposed to show a joined up approach to the revised regulations.

Hi All
Perhaps you would like to consider the responses to Dianes question on her other thread.
