Hi All,
I've been asked to carry out H&S audits of the county council's civic amenity sites. They are owned by the council but are operated by waste contractors. This is a new area for me so if anyone out there has any experience or advice it would a great help.

HSE have recently published quite a useful document "Operating Civil Amenity Sites Safely" and the document leads through the main issues.

Hi there, there is a Material Recycling Week conference being held on the 8th December at Earls Court, London on Avoiding Disaster - Health and Safety in Recycling and Waste Management. There are speakers from the HSE, Biffa, Onyx etc. You can find details on the website www.saferecycling.co.uk well worth it if you're looking at these audits in the long term.
