Posted By Dazmo Hello, Can anyone give any assistance with respect to evaluating tenders form organisations bidding for contracts? The potential bidders will submit a range of documents, most of which are fine but am a little unsure how to evaluate the risk assessments. I'm looking for a set of criteria I could compare them against to check they are up to scratch. Unfortunately they will not be specific to the work they will be completing for us, but are specific to similar jobs they have done in the past. Any ideas? Thanks for your help! D

Posted By Charley Farley-Trelawney Dazmoon Interesting point, if by your own admission you are unsure what to make of submitted H&S documentation this will become fairly difficult, I think the best option would be to scrutinize the areas you are proficient in and call for a suitably qualified competent person to examine the RA's and other supporting information, alas, you will have no idea what goes on in the company without carrying out a full assessment on their H&S commitment, once you have that information I feel you will be in a far better position to make a decision. I would not be able to qualify a decision to accept anything at the tender stage without fully understanding what was in front of me, it's not a problem, none of us know everything, but there must be a man/woman available to you that does know what someone else does not. If all else fails and you do not have anyone available, try a local specialist consultant, for a fee they will help you, mind you, be quick afore their chartered status 'kicks in' I am certain rates may well increase, well at least I hope they do! All the best and good luck Charles
