Posted By Ian Alexander Duncan I have to do a Risk Assessment on the use of a Doppler Radar Gun, used for speed detection where I work, not on public roads. I have searched the web but cannot find anything relating to the Health Effects. I have contacted the Manufacturer but have not received anything back as yet. To speed up the process does anyone have any knowledge of the Health Effects of Doppler radar or where I can find the information?

Posted By John Murgatroyd The unit should come with the usual instruction book...basically, risks are very low. The unit operates at around 10 GHZ (X-band) with a power output of a few milliwatts. The major risk will be to the eyes, so the operator should not look into the unit nor point it at people at close range. There is little radiation to the rear of the unit, and the output signal is very directional..
