Posted By Jasonjg Hi all I am considering doing some fire risk assessment & management courses within or close to Manchester. Does anyone know of any GOOD providers within this region and at what qualification level should I be looking for. Price estimates and timelines will be appreciated but please be aware that I want to cover more than a quick overview of the basics so some form of formal recognition is preferred. CHUBB courses are springing to mind but I feel these may be a bit out of my price range I as am self-funding. Does anyone happen to also know if any new Standards or guidance docs are planned to appear in the near future, that give a definitive guide to best practice with fire risk assessment and management. I seem to have come across countless arguments of what is actually in date or not in date when it comes to fire prevention, assessing, equipment and building specifications etc. What should I be looking at purchasing in the guidance documents and Standards departments and what weblinks should I be visiting? Your help, advice, and assistance is greatly appreciated Thanks Jason

Posted By Simon M Jason The FPA will do a good course for you www.thefpa.co.uk or Lancashire Fire Service have a good centre in Preston. However you may consider bringing someone in as they can then taylor a course to your nneds and also do a quick walk about just to get the ball rolling. A good company I know of is Venture Fire at www.venturefire.co.uk . I hope this helps. Simon
