Posted By Wayne Watson Whilst browsing through the forums a discussion caught my eye relating to scaffolders and the toe boards and platforms question, my question is, is there a specific regulation, code of practice, etc other than training information instruction (74) that states scaffolding cannot be erected by a basic scaffolder or was this the case because he was the only one who turned up for work that day.

Posted By Chris Pope Look to the NASC as providers of HSE approved guidance in this matter - TG20:05 "Guide to Good practice for scaffolding with tubes and fittings they state that scaffolders should be CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record scheme) card holders - trainee, basic or advanced. Apparently they produce CAP 609 which explains the system

Posted By Martin Daly Scaffold tickets have been around since the 2nd world war. In the Construction HSW at work act of 1974 there use became compulsery from 1979. Yours Martin Daly
