Posted By Martin Taylor Can you be specific about what you mean by RULA? I have some recognition it is associated with ergonomics but am not sure if this is what you are looking for Jane

Posted By Martin Hartland Hi Jane Although i don’t have any experience with using this tool, I’ve undergone training in using broadly similar ergonomic assessment tools from Humantech. My (limited) experience is that use of these tools needs some form of formal training in recognising ergonomics risk factors. In answer to your question my opinion is that yes, it is a useful tool if you know what your looking for. Regards Martin Hartland

Posted By Jane Tanner The use of an assessment tool called RULA ( Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) is part of a screening tool that evaluates the risk factor of posture, static muscle contraction, repetitive motion, and force relative to a specific job. Each risk factor contributes to a score so you are able to assess each individual part of the body and then make recommendation for the whole task or parts of it. I am conducting one by notes and find it a bit difficult to follow and to make sure I am doing this right. I think it will be practice. Does anyone elec have any sugestions or a better tool to use. Regard Jane (from Australia)
