Posted By Gordon Thelwell Hi,
Do you know if there is an EHO equivalent of the HSE prosecution site?
I’m looking for statistics regarding improvement/prohibition notices for facilities where their pallet racking is unsafe both regional and national.
Thanks in advance.

Posted By Adrian Watson Dear Gordon,
I'm afraid there is no central datbase. Each LA must keep a register that is open to the public. However, there is of course the annual LA statistics on the HSE website.

Posted By Robert K Lewis Have never found one as I think LAs tend to be rather insular in their reporting, unlike the HSE who have a unified national structure.

Posted By terry mallard This thread caught my eye and as a LA Health & Safety Inspector-thought i would safely throw in some comments. The Notice Register is only viewable if the IN or PN is relevant to mebers of the public, so not all can be looked at. Further more with the Partner ship work between LA and HSE changing the way Safety is regulated by better use of resources, improvemnets to central recording of data-i am sure between this us will improve, with more open governemnt about what we do ( we as in both HSE and LA ). Does this link help regarding 2003/4 offences http://www.hse.gov.uk/lau/pdfs/hela0304.pdfHave you tried the Office of Fair Trading who keep national data of cases taken, because i am sure you will appreciate we are restricted to what IN/PN information can be released to a third party. (The Freedom of Information Act has changed this as well in relation to what can be realeased and to whom within the criteria). I know its of no help to you but even working within the LA system we have had difficulty seeking this information nationally, however there is a Extranet web site between LA and HSE and i understand that in the pipeline line, this is where such recording may also be availabe ( as well as the Office of Fair Trade.) The stats mentioned earlier also should provide details of types of accidents etc in industry sectors. I am trying to help( honest guv)-the Local Auhtority Unit (LAU)based at Rose Court, London, may be of more help to provide the bigger picture or even data you require.
