Posted By Lance Morgan Hi everybody Have any of my NHS colleagues completed or drafted a KSF Profile. The DOH website has one for Fire Advisors only. I would appreciate it if anybody who has completed this process could give me some guidance or even better let me have a look at theirs.:O) What appears to be the accepted banding etc. Thanks in anticipation. Regards Lance

Posted By Bill Elliott Lance - If you mean Agenda For Change profile, you are right there is not a national banding for safety advisors. The KSF issue, whilst linked to A4C, is not part of the banding process but is more about establishing the skills and knowledge necessary to do the job that would be included in your appraisal and objective setting.

Posted By Joe Paterson Hi Guys Still nothing to report from NHS Glasgow in relation to AFC Bandings Process started off slowly and has ground to a halt! As you say there are no National Profiles as yet...will be interesting when they finally are uncovered, sorry published. If you search through the Agenda For Change threads on this forum you will see one of our colleagues from NHS Luton has been through the Banding process, came out at Band 6 after completion of JAQ Worrying times for us all within the NHS in relation to AFC I believe, None more so than in our field. If there is any further information out there can we make sure its shared please,

Posted By angela westwood it's a bit of a difficult one with KSF as its intent is not "supposed" to be linked to your job match or JAQ (I know I tried getting my head round that one and failed) but linked to competence and your annual appraisal with the view of getting you through the gateways and increments. I thinkg KSF profiles for jobs in general are good, I particularly like that fact that every employee who works in the NHS will have safety competencies that they will have to attain and I think that's where we come in to set the competencies. In my PCT us safety bods are being asked to help with setting the competencies for employees and managers which I find very refereshing. With regards to ourselves, we have to determine what the KSF should be for someone who is competent to do our job and the following competencies. My problem would be in if a health and safety adviser was graded highly and was a corporate member of IOSH where do they go next to attain the next increment. I'm still trying to puzzle it out. Regards Angela
