Posted By Aine Hi All, Can anyone tell if there are particular dimensions for sitting people in seminar/ training room with an area of 25.3m sq. The height is above 3m. I know its obvious to fit in as many as will be comfortable but I'm being asked for actual figures. The Acops state 11m for workstations so would it be far off this as there is a large table in middle of room which all have to sit at. Thanks

Posted By Frank Hallett Hi Aine & Bill. Good answer Bill but Aine didn't specify in what context she is looking for the answer. Aine, if you are looking for a reliable statement that enables you to determine the allocation of space in relation to determining maximum capacity for fire safety - that's Bills answer. Aine, if you are not looking for fire safety related figures, the answer is in L24, the Workplace [Health, Safety & Welfare] Regulations. Frank Hallett

Posted By Andrew Böber Form an event management premise I would also suggest consulting The Standard Rule of Management for Places of Public Entertainment - a governmental doc which is easily found on any internet search. In any conference space the numbers is not determine by the amount of space (per se) but rather by the number of evacuation points. Your local Fire Authority usually are more than happy to consult on this - and depending on the size of what you are looking for usually require this. Should you be hiring a venue than the venue owners should be able to supply this information to you as it will be inherent within their licenses. Andrew
