The physical tasks performed by hands for removing secretions and contaminants from the endoscopes using a syringe to squirt the fluid into the port BY HAND causes injuries to hand, palm and/or fingers due to repetitive pushing and pulling of syringe while squirting fluid into the endoscopes prior to sterilization. I would appreciate if readers of this forum advise me if there is any other way to clean the scopes(e.g. mechanical way) without physically touching it by hand. Thanks in advance.

I think you will find from this site.....http://www.nursingceu.com/courses/84/index_nceu.html......that it is necessary to do most of the job using hands.....due to the complexity of most of the equipment..
