Posted By Kinnikin For getting on to tankers safely. When tankers arrive on site without two barriers and we still require personnel to climb up on to the tanker safely. The Access Platform referred to above seems just the ticket. However, who are the suppliers of this access solution and what kind of price is the standard version? Cheers, Kinnikin

Posted By Sean Nuttall It may be worth looking into bottom off loading facilities before you go down the access platform route. At my previous employer we had a set up that allowed the loading and offloading of all tankers at ground level. No climbing on the vehicle at all even to take samples. Only slight difficulty came with tankcontainers. If you email me direct I will be happy to supply you with contact details from my previous employer and am sure they will help you out.

Posted By Kinnikin Sean, Thanks for your response. In most cases we do have unloading at ground level as you describe. However, on (increasingly rarer) occassions we have to have someone access the top of the tanker. Where this is the case we will not allow access with only one handrail. Hence the enquiry about the Access solution mentioned previously. If I can I would like to take you up on your offer. You can email me by clicking "Kinnikin" in the title area above. Thanks in advance for the contact details and thanks for your response. Kinnikin.

Posted By Kinnikin Refresh! Has anyone bought this kind of equipment? Is it any good. NB it is only ever going to be used on the odd occassion that a Tanker comes to site and we cannot complete everything at ground level. Cheers K
