We have problem with a slippery floor in our kitchen. We are tackling this from several areas. Looking at the type of floor, the cleaning regime, operational methods and footwear.
Can anyone recommend suitable slip resistant footwear that has proved successful in use.
Any advice will be welcome.

If it's a small enough kitchen, would you consider coating the floor with one of the products distributed by Watco. Very effective.

David,
Have you tried Nisbets, when I was working as a chef, I wore these "Flex-Step Clogs - Black Fully flexible polyurethane soles (no wood) giving superb shock absorbtion. Quality leather water repellent uppers. Anti-slip oil resistant sole"
I always found them very good. www.nisbets.co.uk will get you there

I would say that you also need to consult with your employees about the type of footwear.
As not everyone can wear clogs

The major safety shoe catalogues show white safety shoes for kitchen staff. Get a sample as a trial first.

As Chris said, "Shoes for Crews" are good and some say they are the best. See www.shoesforcrews.com
But in a kitchen I would have thought that you could get the slip risk under control with the correct floor covering (make sure that the suppliers have assessed the slip resistance performance using the HSE's recommended approach for assessment of pedestrian slip risk and can provide appropriate data) along with a good cleaning regime and well defined operational methods.

Thanks to all who have responded.
We are looking at the specification of the floor, it was only laid approx three years ago, and the cleaning regime using the HSE guidance. I was looking for recommendation on footwear. I shall now follow up on the recommendation given.
Thank you again.
