Safety is a state of mind …
and so too is SEX.

Safety can get very complicated …
and so too can SEX.

Talking about SEX now days is a common topic …
even children talk about it in the playgrounds.

So why not let safety be taught from childhood.

Maybe the reason is that the joy of each is somewhat different.
Research shows that the male thinks about sex 83 a normal working day and the average female 48 times …

So why so much interest in SEX and not SAFETY.

S Simplicity – Kiss in business vs. foreplay in sex.
A Attitude – Need enthusiasm for safety vs. No sex wife has headache
F Fake – Managers fake safety (not just lip service) and so does sex.
E Empowerment – In bed but what about work.
T Tactics – Old tricks don’t work any more need new ones for both work and sex.
Y Yield – Return on investment; work = zero injuries … but with wife a ever lasting relationship.

The moral of the story is that if we can get the same interest in Safety at work and off work for that matter as in SEX … what a pleasure.

SO WE WILL SCORE SAFELY ALL ROUND

Hi Jonathan

Perhaps what I am trying to say in a nut shell is that the thoughts in ones mind will always be more important than the things in your life so the saying goes but perhaps we should change this mindset and concentrate on safety first!

Warmest regards

Charles

I was watching this Thread with no real intent to take part, until ........

"Safety First"!

Been there, seen it, done it - and moved on.

What is it companies, this country, employees, etc etc require? We need business output, not safety. But, don't jump yet.

In achieving that output we need to give all the important factors - safety, money, quality, labour etc - due regard. Not equal regard but a ballancing approach which may see quality receiving significant input one day/week, whereas money, safety or others receive that attention and priority as required to keep the balance and achieve delivery.

If you put safety on a pedastal you will never achieve the best output.

What, I suggest, we need to do is change the attitudes of managers and supervisors (after all they get paid the money to manage and supervise) to enable that balance to be found and worked too.

Hi Bill

You have certainly hit the nail on the head (hard hat on!) ... safety and quality do go hand in hand ... all along the supply chain ... the output of either services or goods must be the best to sustain the business life cycle. To manage both human and plant capital is the cornerstone of economics and profitability. Perfection, reduction in costs, developing human potential, building mutual trust, developing team performances, treating every employee as a manager and finally providing a stable livelihood for all employees is sound business (safe) sense to me.

Regards

Charles
