Does anyone know if HSG 33 is to be revised?

Would I be right in thinking that life has moved on considerably with the Working at Heights Regulations and the guidance on ladders superceding some of this guidance in HSG 33 and that in some cases it is now contradictory and unhelpful in setting a clear understanding of what is and what is not safe in roof work.

HSE Response

Dear Sir.Madam,

Thank you for your enquiry regarding HSG33 Health and safety in roofwork.

I have confirmed the following information with Robert Vaughn who is based within the HSE's Work at Height and Machinery Safety Policy Branch:

HSG 33 is still a current guidance document and there are no plans to update this document in the immediate future. However, the document still offers sound advice even though is in not in line with the current Work at Height Regulations 2005.
