How long is it necessary to keep LOLER Certificates for?

Depending on what certificate you are talking about. The EC Declaration of Conformity must be kept as long as you the Operator are using the Lifting Equipment.

If you are talking about a thorough examination of a Lifting Accessory this must be kept for 2 years.

On the basis that claims for personal injury can be brought up to 3 years after any incident, I would strongly recommend that all certificates of thorough examination are kept for a minimum of 3.5 years. Just in case.
