Did IOSH or SHP conduct a survey of this, I remember seeing the results published and it varies according to industry.

Generally public sector getting less than private and Oil/gas getting most.

Starting salaries for an assistant safety advisor can start around 20,000 depending on qualifications, experience and location i.e. central London.

This can raised to 30,000+ quickly with suitable qualifications such as diploma and experience.

Also whether full time or consultant as the later can then lead to 120+ per day easy.

Also dependant on size of site and responsibilities involved Safety managers could earn easily up to 40, 50, 60k per annum.

60k per annum - isnt that as much as a footballer? Oh, no, not quite. I was getting my units of time mixed up. I knew i should have tried harder in P.E. when i was a kid.
