I see that IOSH 06 is partly sponsored by, among others, an entity called "Personal Injury Compensation".

Um, don't want to insult anyone here, but could these be counted among the sort of people we sometimes blame for fostering the "blame culture" ?

I suppose I ought to google them and check out their web site.

What do you think ?

In answer to your first question, 'could these be counted among the sort of people we sometimes blame for fostering the "blame culture"?, my opinion is that, to the extent that they foster 'blame culture', they are part of a large throng.

In answer to your second question, 'What do you think ?', my modest experience as an expert witness in Personal Injury and Unfair Dismissal cases has convinced me of the economic and moral advantages of mediation, conciliation and state-financed arbitration over litigation in Personal Injury cases. In this light, I would very much like to see IOSH learn from the practice of the state-funded Disability Concialiation and Mediation Services, and promote MCA as a far preferable alternative to lititation in P I matters.

I wonder to what extent you might question sponsorship of the IOSH annual conference by specialists in mediation, conciliation and arbitration?

Hi Merv - well publicised!

Does anyone know if there any particular sessions that are being sponsored or is it the general event?

If they are sponsoring a session; what is it and who selects the speakers and perspective taken?
