Hi everyone,

I am trying to locate information on Gymnasiums, and how many pieces of equipment and the max amount of people that can be in a gymnasium at any one time. Does anyone know of any media etc where I could find such info.

Thanks.

Guill

Hi Guill

In what context are you seeking the info - staff safety, visitor safety, fire safety or something else?

I asked our gym manager what he thought, and this is his reply:

Back to the old risk assessment really!

Depends on type of kit, age of trainers, access, staffing etc etc. Likely to be a lot as for a swimming pool it is 2sqm per bather. I would suggest trial and error. Let lots in until users start to moan that there are too many and their training I is taking too long as they are having to wait for kit. Then you have your level which will be below the "safe" level I would have thought.
