Posted By Caroline Probart I recently sat the part 1 of the DIPosh, and during my course it was mentioned that all employers must supply company car drivers with high visibility clothing, does anyone know where this is stated?
Thanks

Posted By Frank Hallett It's not Caroline.
Whether the drivers should be provided with "hi-vis" will be determined by the RA that takes into account what they are expected to do and how they are expected to do it.
As part of the RA you should consider that they may need to leave the vehicle in places other than a well controlled area - eg puncture on the Motorway.

Posted By J Knight Hi Caroline,
Frank's right, but do bear in mind that employers are required to do what is reasonably practicable, and best practice should be taken into account in RAs. Hi-vis clothing costs naff all, and since there probably is no good reason why it would make people less safe, it would seem inescapably reasonably practicable (damn, damn, something else we forgot to do!! :))

Posted By Fred Pratley Don't forget a Hi-vis vest is a requirement in some countries, like the warning triangle.
