Posted By Derek M Hi, A little advice needed. Having recently carried out a pregnancy assesment on an operative in a fruit packhouse, I stated that due to possible fatigue issues, a control measure was that, she should not be rostered to work 7 days in a row. This has been challenged by the relevant manager. I need some supporting info to help me get the message home that working 7 days straight is not acceptable. Assuming of course that most IOSH memebrs would agree with me on this. Anything I have found so far simply says assess the risk, etc. I really need something that has hard evidence or figures in it. Any suggestions?

Don't the Working Time Regs have something to say about this?

I'm more than a little confused by your posting. I visited your web site and found that the company proudly advertises that the company "People Standards" are Excellence Through People & Investors in People.
Your message fails to support either!
I accept that you personally aren't responsible for either, but it does make me think just what the awards really mean in the light of your request for support.
I shan't assume that you're UK, but you're certainly EU based. You need higher level support here. Re-read the national version of MHSW Regs - Reg 16-18 re pregnant women & nursing mothers and get a medical opinion!
