Can anybody point me in the direction of a brief of The history of H & S. For example What was the first safety legislation ,to who introduced the legislation etc? I recall something about children up chimneys etc

I don't know where you can get a full history from but I was told, a long time ago, that the first H&S legislation was the Health and Morals of Apprentices Act 1802. You can read more here: http://dspace.dial.pipex...el/factmine/1802act.htm.
