What constitutes a low head height / possibility of collision with fixed object in relation to a building.

The plain english version: How LOW has it got to be when you have to warn people of low head height ??

The 95th percentile for the British population is about 6'1" (allowing 1" for shoes) so anything less than that should probably be marked with a suitable warning.

building regs state that a door frame must be 6 foot 6 inches in height, you could sumise that anything lower than that is below head height.

Lewes

The minimum headroom under any obstacle above a walkway or platform should be 2.1m - any less constitutes a hazard and in the industrial settings I usually encounter is considered to be a hard hat area.

The minimum headroom above a stair is 2m measured vertically at the nose of the step.

The minimum headroom through a doorway is as already stated 6'6" although this is generally internal doors. The standard sizes for doors are 2040mm for internal and 1994mm for external. Why there is a difference is beyond me!

Hope that little lot helps.
