Posted By Frank Hallett Hi Richard It is assumed that the principal function of the PPE is to clearly identify a particular group of people [First-Aiders] so that they are readily discernible from the greatest distance under normal working conditions rather than to provide a warning of a problem such as people working in a potential traffic route, for instance. It then depends on the environment in which you expect to use them Richard. For instance:- Railways - orange; high speed roads - saturn yellow with specific reflective patterns. If it's for in-house; you decide! All it has to be is consistant and notified to all potential users of First aid. Seems like a good idea to me. Frank Hallett

Posted By Richard Altoft Dont paramedics have green overalls with hi-vis bands on them and don't they use them at the roadside in emergencies etc - presumably the main suppliers such as ARCO could advise the appropriate specification depending on speeds and other risk factors. Alternatively go for usual hi-viz but green helmets with logo and white cross badge etc in usual way R

Posted By Martin J Morley If the normal colours are not suitable, you could try the "Coloured waistcoat 2 band & braces NOT EN471, Velcro fastening, 5cm HI VIS reflective tape. This is available on special order in the following high visibility colours: emerald green, lime green, bottle green, royal blue, navy, pale blue, hi-vis fluorescent red, standard red, hot pink, black, white. Minimum order 20 vests." If staff need to be identified at a distance, whether First Aid or Fire Wardens, then coloured headgear is more easily spotted in a crowd. martin
