Posted By Robert S Woods I’m looking for a form or system for recording training. The training is carried out by “buddying” the trainee with an experienced operative with a final assessment being carried out by a department manager. Any help or advice appreciated.

Posted By Dave Skipsey Hi Robert You do not mention the age or experiance of your trainees (or trainers)but here some items for consideration Your form will need to be relevent to the training carried out and could include: What equipment/activity the training is required for, who carried out the training, their role within the organisation and evidence that they are "competent" to carry out training, the name of the trainee, method of training ie practical or theory or a mixture of both, date of training a declaration by the trainee that the training was understood, a declaration from the trainer that training was carried out successfully with no problems encountered, any additional training, information, instruction requirments resulting from training. This could include issuing of equipment PPE etc or instruction of safety warning devices, emergancy procedures, location of emergancy stop buttons, safe systems of work, who to report faults to, instruction on when not to use etc Young persons are subject to additional protection under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regs 1999, you will need to be familiar with the requirments if this is a factor This should give you a starter for what may be required. Kind regards
