Posted By SafeMe It depends on what type of foundry, I have worked in Aluminium, Copper and steel foundries, and although they have some common hazards, each has their own particular hazard. Is it Die casting, sand casting, shell moulding or ingot making. Aluminium foundries - main hazards include explosion from water ingress, flash explosions from aluminium powder. Chemicals including Potassium aluminium flouride or sodiumsilica flouride. Copper foundries - Hazards include fume from alloying elements including Lead, nickel, zinc. Common hazards Noise, dust, fume, black sand chemicals, Heat, molten metal burns, heat exhaustion, M&H I have alot of pics, from my foundry days, let me know wht you are after and ill try and find some.
