Posted By Jonathan Sandler CMIOSH I have just been watching the news at 10 tonight, one of the stories was EU Countries being able to supply services to other EU Countries, ok, that seems fair, BUT if the country providing the (Provider)service is in Poland, for example and the service is offered to a company in the UK (The Client) and the service staff come from Poland (Worker) but work in the UK then they will come under Polish Law (Health and Safety). GOT IT, I think thats right. Now, if I have my facts correct what will this all mean to us as safety persons? We clipboard person are going to have a real headache. Regards

Posted By John Murgatroyd It won't make much difference at all. Many immigrant workers pay no attention to HS legislation anyway, as do the home-grown workers. I suppose that it will apply to all laws then ?

Posted By Stupendous Man Of course there is also the possibility that other countries will offer H&S consultancy services over here.

Posted By EE Nothing wrong with that - provided the standard of competency is sufficient....welcome to 20th century I work for an international company (USA based) - with HQ in Amsterdam - both parties tell us what to do & we get a chance to go to Europe / America & tell them what to do - cross border consultancy has benefits - UK / IOSH does not have all the answers
