Posted By Alexander Falconer Recommend British Safety Councils Diploma in Environmental Management, did this course back in 1999/2000 (3 x 1 week modules) at the Stirling Highland Hotel (excellent venue & freshly made danish pastries every morning). Danny Cochrane was an excellent tutor who ensured the class interacted well and learned from each others experiences. The course cost around £3k at the time, however local enterprise support was available to tune of 50% (big saving of £1.5K). Always worth giving them a call, they are normally trying to get companies to become "green"

Posted By Dave Wilson HASTAM are in my opinion the best at this, They regularily get 100% with distinctions on each course. PS I do not have any connections with them at all but if you are going to fork out serious dosh you want to know if a) its worth it? and b) am I likely to pass? Big YES on both counts!

Posted By Rachel G I have completed an MSc in Environmental Management and from that the advice I would give is whichever course you look at doing ensure that it covers Law, Impact Assessment, Internal/external auditing (14001:2004) quite thoroughly. Depending on the environment you work in coverage of waste management, energy, contaminated land etc. are also very useful. I'd also look for IEMA accreditation and if possible a qualification in auditing.
