I have been given the task of implementing a safety reward scheme into the company I work for. Does anyone have any examples of successful schemes used in a multi site organisation?
Thanks

The Dupont scheme used to (may still) be a gift for everyone after the site had gone 12 months without LTI. Then I think it came down to 12 months without a "recordable" (OSHA LTI, Restricted work day, medical treatment) At the time I left them the cost of the gift was around £20 and was usually something for the home, chosen from list of about 10 items. (fire extinguishers, first aid kits usually included but not required)
We still have and use a coffee maker, a garden hose, an electric drill and a battery charger. The set of sheets wore thin years ago.
Above said, the best "reward" system mixes the "tangible" (as above) with the "social". ie someone comes to meet the group, to hear them talk about their achievement, to praise them (and I mean that most sincerely) and to present the gift as a "souvenir of your successful achievement"
Cash is a no-no. It goes and is forgotten too quick. I have a few small items (cost about £1) that were given to me by people I have trained. Each time I come across or use them, I remember the occasion and the people.
Aaaah
Actually, "rewards and recognition" is an integral chapter in our behavioural safety training so I could go on about it for hours. And usually do.
